Oscar Marshburn addresses the Whittier Rotary Club on Friday, March 1, 1974. Title of the address is "My Hometown for 70 Years". Introduction is by Mynatt Smith. Oscar Marshburn came to Whittier with his family in 1903 at the age of 7. He describes what Whittier was like at that time through the eyes of a boy. He talks about the different jobs he had, and the various people who had an influence on his life. He started his own insurance business in 1922, and was still active in it at the time of this speech. He mentions his relationship through marriage to both the Milhous and Nixon families. He was also active in the First Friends Church and the American Red Cross.
